1月19日上午，济南市莱芜区第十八届人民代表大会第三次会议召开，莱芜区区长秦蕾作《政府工作报告》。
《报告》中提到，莱芜区2018年坚守底线、铁腕治理，生态环境持续优化。强力推进中央、省环保督察反馈问题整改，办结交办案件287件。
持续推进治理攻坚，加大空气污染治理力度，完成钢铁行业深度治理项目6个，整治验收工业窑炉14家，化解煤炭过剩产能48万吨，推广清洁煤炭4709吨、炉具2070台，二氧化硫、氮氧化物、PM10、PM2.5同比改善27.6%、7.5%、9.6%和1.7%。
加大水环境治理力度，全面推行河长制、湖长制，各级河长巡河1.6万次，发现处理问题220余处，出境断面水质稳定达标。建立环保网格化监管机制，配备网格员46人。
加大砂石资源整治力度，关停退出砂石矿山企业20家，升级改造9家；探索国有企业参与治理新模式，治理土地1158亩。
深入开展“绿满嬴牟·美丽莱芜”国土绿化行动，新增造林绿化2.2万亩，创建省级森林村居3个，市级绿化模范镇1个、模范村40个，城区绿化率达到43.3%，全区森林覆盖率提高2.56%。
