１０月３１日，由哈电集团（秦皇岛）重型装备有限公司研制的世界首台球床模块式高温气冷堆蒸汽发生器在河北秦皇岛通过验收，这是采用螺旋管换热结构，换热效率更高、结构布置更紧凑的蒸汽发生器，将装备于高温气冷堆核电站示范工程华能石岛湾核电站。
依托国家科技重大专项“大型先进压水堆和高温气冷堆核电站”，哈电集团（秦皇岛）重型装备有限公司历时十年，将高温气冷堆示范工程蒸汽发生器研制成功。
据介绍，高温冷气堆是目前安全性最高的第四代核电技术。依靠堆芯“固有安全性”，就能保证反应堆不会熔毁，放射性不会外泄，是被国际公认的“不会熔毁的反应堆”，是我国拥有完全自主知识产权的核电技术，而蒸汽发生器是高温气冷堆的核心装备。
哈尔滨电气集团有限公司党委书记、董事长斯泽夫说，球床模块式高温气冷堆蒸汽发生器的制造成功，标志着哈电集团在设计、材料、制造工艺迈上了新的台阶。此外，该蒸汽发生器具有完全自主知识产权，也为中国核电走向世界创造了条件。
本台蒸汽发生器的设计方为清华大学核能与新能源技术研究院，清华大学负责产品结构设计和相关计算，哈电集团负责绝大部分施工图设计，产学研紧密结合，在保证蒸汽发生器设计要求前提下，对材料、结构、制造检验要求等进行了系统论证，使其具备良好的经济性和工艺性。
