据外媒 - 中国海关周一公布的数据显示，2018年煤炭进口增至2.815亿吨，创四年最高年度进口规模，尽管政府采取控制进口的措施。
中国海关总署公布的数据显示，2018年煤炭进口较2017年增加3.4%，不过12月进口锐减近47%至1，023万吨。
贸易商和公共事业公司临近年底时大幅减少采购煤炭，遵守政府指示。公共事业公司持有的煤炭库存创纪录，这压低国内煤炭价格。
在国内供应充足和电力需求增长放缓之际，公共事业公司接到指示，要求将2018年煤炭进口量控制在低于前一年的水平。
根据计算，中国今冬还对329万户家庭实现煤改气，数量高于上一年，北京方面继续推进使用更清洁的能源以控制污染。
贸易商预计中国1月煤炭进口将持续处于低位，因继续控制进口以提振国内煤炭价格。中国将煤炭用于发电、取暖和炼钢。
